About

Are you experiencing excessive worrying, depression...or going through a transition period in your life and having a hard time navigating the changes? Are you feeling stress or anxiety around the current political climate? If you are searching for a way to see things through a different lens, a sounding board to sort out your feelings and navigate your way through them, you have come to the right place.

My practice focuses on working with individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, and/or who are going through a transition period in their life and having a hard time navigating the changes. I am a generalist practitioner and my therapeutic style is rooted in a Strengths Based perspective. This means that I believe the basic strengths needed to make change are already within you. In therapy, we will identify those strengths and build on them. As a Social Work Therapist, I then combine this strengths-based approach with an understanding that you are not an island. What you are going through is impacted by what’s going on around you: your neighborhood, society, family, and friend groups. You are a connected member of many different communities and we will use this perspective to help sort out the feelings you are having in relation to what’s happening in the communities you are a part of.  

Most of my training and experience also leverages Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which connects your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and challenges your way of thinking to help change behaviors that may not be serving you well. I will also at times incorporate Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients.
